2x the Fun!!!

I had the privilege of photographing 6 week old twin girls along with their parents.  The biggest challenge for us was trying to keep both girls happy and the place they were the happiest and felt the most secure was when they were in their parents arms!  Hope you enjoy these photos of this beautiful family!

A Day on the Farm...

I got a chance to go as a chaperone on one of Makya's field trips this past week, our first stop was at Oak Grove dairy farm followed up with lunch at Bluebird Gap Farm.  It was so much fun being able to go with the kids and watch them as they learned all about how they get the milk from the cow to the carton we buy in the grocery store.  They also had the opportunity to feed a baby calf from a bottle, go on a hay ride, listen to a Bible story as well as eat cookies and drink a glass of milk while on the farm.  Here are a few pictures I captured while on the adventure...hope you enjoy them!

Introducing Riley...

At the beginning of the summer I had put out a posting on Facebook for a newborn model.  I had a lot of people interested but most of them are all due some time in the next couple of months.  So, after waiting and waiting, Riley's mom contacted me and stated she would be interested, in having me take her daughters photos.  I was thrilled as you could imagine.  I have photographed several infants but this was to be my first newborn shoot. That is, in photography terms portraits taken within the first 2 weeks after birth.

I hope you enjoy the photos!

I wanted to show you all this just for fun!  So, here are the two pictures I combined to make the final image!  As you can see Mom never left Riley's side.  The most important thing to remember during any photo shoot is SAFETY!

Hope you enjoyed the photos!

Before the Storm

I was so excited, when Johna contacted me about taking her family pictures.  I had been scouting out a new location and was dying to shoot there, so this was the perfect chance!

However, we had a very brief window of opportunity to get them done due to her husbands work situation.  So, initially we planned on a Saturday evening session to get them done.  So, as I always do, I started to follow the weather very closely, initially they showed only about a 20% chance of rain and over the week as we got closer it kept creeping up and was predicted at a 40% chance.  Something in me just told me that we needed to bump the session up one night and just due it on Friday evening, so I contacted the Spigel family to see if they would be available that day and to my relief they were.  Now, for you local Virginia people let me tell you which Saturday that was...that was the day numerous areas around Hampton Roads flooded and let me add it poured ALL day!  I am so thankful for their families flexibility and the opportunity I had to capture these images!
